Car Insurance Mitsubishi (Car Insurance). can a broken sway bar lead to a broken axle?

can a broken sway bar lead to a broken axle? About a week ago, the CV boot in my 99 grand prix tore while I was driving up a hill and it made a loud, god awful clunking noise when I put it in drive, park, and reverse. I was able to make it to my house by coasting backwards down the hill and then pushing it the rest of the way. Anywho, my dad automatically assumed it was the transmission. I had just bought new tires for it and we were taking them off to put on a spare car we have in the back yard when my brother noticed the sway bar was broken, right near the end of it, and the cv boot was torn. He replaced my axle but didn't bother with the sway bar, saying it has been broken for a while and it wasn't really a big deal, even though it looks like it's just swingin around in there. Well, after the new axle was put on, it ran fine. For about 2 days. The night after it was put on, I was coming home and heard a loud pop, just one time, when turning to the right. It still ran fine after the pop and I told my dad as soon as I got home. He just shook it off. But the day after that when I was driving to work, I heard the loud pop again but this time the car wouldn't move. It's at the shop now, but he can't look at it until next week. I assumed it was the axle but seeing as it was only 2 days old, I'm second guessing myself. So my question is, can my broken sway bar be tearing into the CV boot? Or does it sound like a transmission problem?

The sway bar does not make the axle go bad. What does make it go bad is when the boot tears and the grease dissipates leaving the cv joint dry. Your explanation sounds like the end of the axle going into the transmission was not seated properly and came out. Unlikely, but if its loose and just hanging there it might tear the boot. But at most all the broken sway bar will cause is bad handeling

Mitsubishi . How to Wire 24 Volts With Two Batteries

In order to wire 24-volts with two batteries and gain optimum power, a serial connection should be used. Batteries arraigned in series are quite common. A tube flashlight that holds four batteries is a serial connection when all the batteries are inserted into the tube with the nub, or positive terminal up. Four 1.5-volt batteries in a serial connection will yield six volts. In order to yield 24-volts from a two-battery connection, two 12-volt batteries are needed. This connection is popular in large trucks, construction equipment and some recreational vehicles.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Safety glasses
Pair of leather gloves
Wrench set
2 12-volt automotive batteries
Battery cable
1-inch ratchet binder

Step by Step :
1
Place two 12-volt automotive batteries in a battery hold-down box or on a rigid shelf. The batteries should be positioned next to each other so that the positive post of one battery is nearest to the negative post of the other one.
2
Secure the batteries to the battery box or shelf. If no tie-down apparatus is available, a suitable system to secure the two 12-volt batteries to the battery box or shelf is to place a small ratcheting load binder over top of the two batteries and attach the two binder ends to the battery shelf or battery box, one on each side of the batteries.
3
Join the positive battery post from one 12-volt battery to the negative post of the other 12-volt battery using a battery cable equipped with a positive terminal on one end and a negative terminal on the other end.
4
Connect the two unconnected battery posts, one from each battery to any device as needed. Remember that these two batteries are now joined in a series and yield 24 volts at the two unconnected posts. Adhere to the polarity of the now 24-volt series by connecting the open positive post to the positive and the open negative post to the negative terminal of the device to be powered.
Tips & Warnings
If the automotive batteries used are equipped with studs or terminals, the joining battery cable can be equipped with an eyelet on both ends.

Do not connect a 24-volt system to a 12-volt device or it will damage it.

Always wear eye protection when working around automobiles and automobile batteries.

Batteries contain corrosive acid and should be handled with gloves to avoid contact with skin.

Mitsubishi . How to Recharge a Kazuma Battery

Kazuma is a Chinese company that manufactures quads and other all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The company's vehicles come fitted with maintenance-free lead-acid batteries delivering a 12-volt, 7-amp supply; you must charge them as if they were normal car or boat batteries. The procedure lies within the capabilities of anyone with the ability to use basic tools and the competence to connect an electrical appliance to a domestic receptacle.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Acid-resistant gloves
Cloth
Wire brush
Battery charger
Wrench or screwdriver

Step by Step :
1
Put on acid-resistant gloves. If the battery is dirty, wipe it with a dry cloth to remove loose debris. In particular, clean around the terminals to remove mud, corrosion and moisture. Use a small wire brush if necessary.
2
Identify the battery lead connected to the negative terminal. The lead connects to the battery using either a screw-down clamp or a clamp held by a nut. Loosen the connector using a wrench or screwdriver that fits the clamp well. Avoid using excessive force or twisting, which may damage the battery. Do not to touch the tool across the battery and any bare metal or electrical contacts.
3
Disconnect the other battery lead. Examine the clamps on both leads. If they have become dirty or corroded, clean them with rags and a wire brush until the metal shines. Pay the same attention to the battery terminals, cleaning them until they too shine.
4
Do not attempt to open the vent caps along the top of the battery. All Kazuma batteries are maintenance free, so unless the battery cannot hold a charge at all, do not try to open it or top up the electrolyte levels.
5
Check to ensure the charger is not connected to a receptacle, then connect a car battery charger to the battery. Attach the spring clips on the battery charger leads to the battery terminals. The red lead attaches to the positive (+) terminal, and the black lead attaches to the negative (-) lead.
6
Connect the charger to a receptacle, and turn on the power. The battery charger meter will display the current drawn by the battery. Continue to charge until the meter indicates a complete charge.
7
Turn off the power to the charger, and disconnect it from the receptacle. Remove the spring clips from the battery. Reconnect the positive battery lead and then the negative battery lead. Check to ensure sure both terminal clamps are well fitted and tightly secured.
Tips & Warnings
Once you have disconnected both battery leads, you can remove the battery from its tray. Charge it in a shed or garage away from outside weather.

Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion to make the charge last longer.

Lead-acid batteries contain extremely corrosive sulfuric acid. Wear gloves, wipe up any spills immediately with a cloth and discard the cloth safely.

Short-circuiting the battery may produce intense heat and cause the battery fluid to boil. In this case, the battery will vent explosive hydrogen gas, which may result in an explosion that sprays boiling acid in all directions.

It enables you to hold the ratchet handle at any angle when working in tight places — and engines are full of tight places! Socket extenders: These indispensable items help you get your socket head way down into the bowels of your engine compartment to reach those almost-unreachable nuts and bolts. The way to tell a good socket wrench set is to look at the number of teeth in the ratchet handle. Most have 20 to 30 teeth. The really good ones have up to 160 Car Insurance 2004 chevrolet silverado 1500 extended cab lspickup4d8ft 349518

60 teeth. The more teeth the handle has, the better it can fit into tight places. This is because you have to move the handle only a few degrees to turn the nut as much as a cheaper handle would in many degrees. In other words, a ratchet handle with 24 teeth must be moved 15 degrees to reach its limit. A handle with 60 teeth has to be moved only 6 degrees to turn a nut as far. You can find instructions for using a socket wrench in the section called "Removing spark plugs" in Chapter 12. Torque Frenches A torque wrench, shown in Figure 2-10, is designed to tighten a nut, bolt, or screw to an exact degree. A torque wrench is extremely handy because, until

you become familiar with a job, you always run the risk of undertightening or overtightening things. If you're replacing a spark plug and you don't tighten it enough, it will work itself loose and fail to deliver a spark. If you overtighten a spark plug, you can strip the threads or crack the plug. Similarly, parts that have gaskets can leak if the bolts that hold them aren't tightened enough. But if you overtighten the same bolts, the gaskets will be crushed, causing the fluid to leak anyway. Most really good torque wrenches are expensive, but a cheaper one is good enough to serve your purposes. If you'd rather not spend the money until you're sure that you're really going to like working on your car, borrow a torque wrench just to get the feel of how tight a nut, bolt, or other part should be. Or you can just forget the whole thing. I've never used a torque wrench; my set of socket wrenches accomplished everything quite well for the work in this book. If you are planning to buy a torque wrench, get one

When tightening a series of bolts, tighten them all just until they're snug. Then go back and tighten them all a bit more. Then go back and tighten them all the way to the torque specifications. Doing so ensures that the entire part you're tightening is under even pressure, prevents leaky gaskets, and increases the life of the bolt and the part. This and the preceding tips are good to follow when you're using any kind of wrench to tighten anything. Before using a torque wrench, make sure that the nut or bolt turns freely so that the torque wrench gets a true reading of the proper nut tightness. You can use a lubricant such as WD-40 on the threads and run the nut up and down a few times to free it before using the torque wrench on it. Part I: Getting Started. Adjustable Frenches An adjustable wrench, sometimes called a monkey wrench, is a useful addi tion to your toolbox. (See Figure 2-11.) You probably already have one in the house. You can adjust the jaws to fit a variety of nuts and bolts simply by turning the wheel. I like the very small and medium sizes because they fit into tight spaces easily. Figure 2-11:
